Week 1

Experience the ease of one-person mobility. No heavy lifting, no tractor needed—just lift and roll to fresh grass. Your birds walk with the coop, stress-free.

Week 2

Watch your flock thrive on daily pasture rotation. Notice brighter combs, healthier appetites, and richer egg yolks as your birds access bugs, greens, and fresh ground.

Week 4

Your Questions Answered

We offer a strong warranty

How hard is it to move the coop? +

Very easy! The Porta Coop features a wheelbarrow-style handle that one person can lift and roll. Your birds simply walk along as you move the coop to fresh pasture—no catching, crating, or heavy lifting required.

Is it really predator proof? +

We've found that rotating the coops daily prevents predators from digging under.

How long does assembly take? +

Assembly typically takes 2-4 hours with two people. If you have experience with similar projects, you might complete it in 1-3 hours. Each coop comes with detailed instructions and assembly videos to guide you through the process. Basic tools needed include a screwdriver, pliers, rubber mallet, drill, and measuring tape.

How many chickens can each coop hold? +

Capacity depends on the model size.

  • The 4×5 holds up to 8 laying hens

  • The 6×8 holds up to 20 laying hens or 32 broilers

  • The 10×12 Heritage holds up to 60 laying hens or 80 broilers

Actual capacity may vary depending on breed size, weather, and how often the coop is moved.

Can I use this in winter? +

Depending on the coop! Many customers use their Porta Coops year-round. The heritage can be used year round but the haven cannot hold heavy snow loads. Winter cover option provides additional protection from wind and snow while maintaining ventilation.

Does it really protect against predators? +

Yes! Every Moveable Coop features welded wire netting permanently secured to a powder-coated steel frame, plus a heavy-duty UV-resistant tarp. This design keeps your flock safe from aerial and ground predators while allowing ventilation and natural light.

What if something breaks or needs replacement? +

We stock replacement parts for all Porta Coop models. Simply contact us and we'll ship what you need. Heritage Series coops come with a 5-year warranty, and Haven Series coops include a 1-year warranty.

How long does shipping take? +

Your coop typically arrives within 7-14+ business days, though many customers receive theirs sooner. Due to higher demand some orders might be placed on a 2 week lead time before shipping.

Will this work on hilly or uneven terrain? +

The Moveable Coop works best on relatively level ground. Small slopes are manageable, but steep hills may make daily moves more challenging. The flat-free wheels handle grass, dirt, and light gravel with ease.
